About Nolton Haven & Surrounding area

The perfect location to discover Pembrokeshire

Nolton Haven

Nolton Haven is a small coastal village within St. Brides Bay. It’s year round dog friendly beach is situated in a sheltered cove. In summer at high tide this turns into a stunning paddling pool while more adventures can be had crabbing on the rocks.

The Mariners Arms overlooking the beach is the perfect way to end the day with a relaxing drink or two.

Folkeston Hill Chalets

No. 42 is situated alongside other purpose built holiday chalets in a quiet valley in Nolton Haven just a 5 minute walk to the beach.

All chalets are privately owned and the site is maintained by the residents association. Being away from main roads, you’ll love the peace and tranquillity on offer.

There is plenty of free parking available on site, and a small children's play area.

Beaches

There are over 50 beaches in Pembrokeshire from large sandy beaches to small secluded coves. Pembrokeshire beaches are some of the best in Europe and nearly all are dog friendly year round.

Our personal (and our dog) favourites are close to home – Nolton Haven, Newgale and Broad Haven but we also love trips to Marloes Sands, Freshwater East, Barafundle Bay and Whitesands.

Pembrokeshire Coastal Path

The world famous Pembrokeshire Coastal Oath runs for 186 miles around the full length of the county coast.

The path runs in both directions off Nolton Haven beach and there are endless recommended walks starting at other points of interest along the way.

In Summer, the dog friendly Puffin Bus runs up and down the coast, taking you to your desired walking spot, or return you home after a tiring hike or perhaps a refreshing drink in one of the cosy local pubs.

Attractions

You won’t be short of things to do during your stay with something for everyones taste.

Take a boat trip and watch the Puffins of Skomer Island, visit Carew Castle and other historical places of interest or spend the day coasteering, surfing or kayaking.

Food & Drink

Pembrokeshire has a wide range of eateries, including many dog friendly venues for breakfast, lunch or dinners. The hardest thing is deciding which one to try first!

Drive the short distance to Broadhaven for a range of pubs, cafes and restaurants on the beachfront during the day.

In the evening, explore some of the cosy pubs and restaurants in Solva (The Ship Inn and The Cambrian Inn) are two of our favourites.

For something special why not consider The Griffin Inn at Dale where many of the menu items have been freshly caught that day by the owner!

If you are a budding chef, the kitchen at No 42 is fully equipped with hob, fan oven, microwave and the all important, good kitchen knives! Comfortable dining can be laid for 4 inside or outside. Our local town of Haverfordwest has all the main supermarkets, you will also find our village Farm Shop and farmers markets can be found offering local produce throughout the year.
